God of Mercy

Here's a woman who has slept with a multitude of men... Gone from guy to guy, rip husbands from their wives... She's deep in sin. One morning she gets dragged out into the street and is surrounded by the townsfolk.

Lifting stones, they're ready to kill her in public for her sins. Suddenly, through the power of grace, a man who is pure in every way approaches and is asked if they are justified in killing her. He kneels down, draws a line in the dirt and stands, saying "If anyone has never sinned, cast the first stone." Startled and reminded of their own filth, they walk away, no stones thrown.

The woman who had sinned and knew it looked up at this pure man, ashamed from her core of her wrongdoings... Yet, this man of purity... This man of mercy asks, "Where are your accusers? Do they accuse you now? Then neither do I. Go and sin no more."

This.... This is the character of Jesus Christ. We keep thinking that by judging and condemning we are honoring God, but we're just shaming him guys. Jesus came of the sick. If we're supposed to walk like him, then why are we walking like Pharisees instead? Let us show mercy as Christ showed mercy.
